Technical College

Introduction

While the High School Academy will focus on Form 1 - 6 students, it will, jointly, with the Technical College cater for:
1.Repeat, rewriting -O- & -A- level students.
2.Supplementing -O- & -A-level students of various age groups.
3.Afternoon, Evening, and Weekend Classes for anyone of 16+ years who would like to pursue their chosen skills training development.

Overview.

The Technology Centre's programmes are a response, partly, to several Zimbabwean UNDP/ILO surveys, one of which was led by Dr. L. Zanamwe in 2011. These confirmed lack of a balance, among the Zimbabwean adult population, between technical skills and knowledge on one hand, and humanities and social sciences on the other. Proportionately speaking, there is poverty of technical skills and knowledge.

Technical College or Technology Centre is informed by desire to:
1.Stemitise and Modernise traditional vocational training
2. Combat the challenges of access to adult education & technical skills education.

Futures Academy's Technical Centre therefore aims to reduce the mismatch between education and skills training and what is required in the labour- employment market after school years. That way, we guarantee students employment and reduction of inhibiting factors to income generating activities.

Fees

Vary according to duration and fields of study but are generally affordable

While the challenge of access to technical training in Rusape/Makoni District has been partly resolved by the establishment of Futures Technical College, cost remains a sticking point. There are many, in Rusape/Makoni District for instance, who have approached the College wanting to further their education and training but are unable - owing to inability to raise fees. Futures can only advise prospective students to approach donors for assistance.
